Twitter has launched a new Twitter handle, @EarlyBird, through which advertisers can pay to have special, limited-time, Twitter-exclusive offers and deals advertised to a large following of hundreds of thousands of users. For our big clients, this represents a potential advertising opportunity to consider.
TechCrunch: Foursquare Extending Physical Reach of Offers, Hints at Hardware Integration. Foursquare is extending the physical distance that their “tips” reach – which will help in rural or outdoorsy locations where there aren’t as many Foursquare venues, making Foursquare an option for even more and different types of brands. They’re also thinking about integrating Foursquare checkins with pieces of hardware at stores, like barcode scanners.
