Of Snuggies and Speakers
According to a recent New Media Strategies Online Intelligence Report, the terms “Pelosi” and “Snuggie” appeared together in over 350 separate tweets since the beginning of President Obama’s address last night.
This significant number of twitter users tweeting and retweeting roughly the same message over and over again must say something about the persona of the twitter community – but what that is I’m not so sure we want to delve into too deeply. Via The White House Blog, here is a picture of the wardrobe the blogosphere was all atwitter… (sorry couldn’t resist):

Does this say that the larger nonpolitically focused twitter community watching last night was eager to link the address to something that has generated significant online buzz previously? Or does it simply state that politicos on twitter are enamored with Snuggies?
I for one, will chose to believe the latter.

What no one wants to talk about is how a far inferior product like the Snuggie has garnered so much buzz when the O.G. of the sleaved warming soft-goods product category is the Slanket!

I’d also like to know why she was so quick to jump up just about every time President Obama completed a sentence. Did Biden put a tack on her chair? Was it just an uncomfortable seat?
